BAHAN AJAR WRITING : RECOUNT TEXT


Directions : Read the sentences given below, they are not in the correct order. Please   Arrange them so that they tell a story in Recount text, make them into paragraph based on the generic structure and give the title of your writing !

SAVED FROM A SNAKE-BITE

1.He   hit   the   snake   hard  
2.They   wanted   to   know   what   had   happened.  
3.He   saw his   neighbour’s   child   playing   out   in   the   garden.  
4.Quickly    Hasan   picked up  a stick   lying   on the road.
5.Hasan ‘s   neighbours   thanked   him    for   saving    their   child. 
 6.One    evening Hasan   decided   to   go   for   a walk. 
7.He   passed    his    neighbour’s    house.
8.Suddenly    hasan    spotted   a   snake   crawling    near    the child’s   legs.
9.The child was    frightened    and    burst into   tears. 
10. Hasan    pointed    to   the dead    snake    and    explained    what    had    happened.
11.The snake    was    about   to   bite   the child.  
12.The cries    brought    the child’s    parents     running out    of     the house.
 
The honest Beggar
1. The beggar could not decide whether to keep the money or to hand it to the police.

2. As they were talking a well-dressed young man came up. The young man said that the wallet belonged to him.

3. Pak Badi was a poor beggar in Jakarta.

4. He proved that the wallet was indeed his by describing the details of the wallet and the amount of money in it.

5. When he opened    the wallet, he found Rp 1.000.000 inside.

6. The beggar was happy. He knew now  that Honesty is the best policy.

 7. The beggar handed the wallet to the policeman on duty and explained how he had found it.

 8. One day he found a wallet on the ground while he was walking along the road.

 9. He earned his living by begging from door to door

 10..He offered the beggar some money as a reward and also a job in his factory.

11. Finally he decided to hand it to the police because he was an honest man.

12. The young man was very grateful to the beggar for returning the wallet
